Mention the offer when you book. One offer per household per visit; offers can’t be combined with each other and don’t apply to work already quoted or completed. Local pricing and availability vary by location - your local Latch & Post Gate Repair team confirms the final price in writing before any work begins.

Every job is priced the same way: a free written estimate

We price the job, not the hour. Before anyone touches anything, you get the full price for the specific work in writing - no hourly meter, no membership to join, no financing to sign, and no line items added afterwards. If the number isn’t right for you, the estimate is still free and you owe us nothing.

How We Price Gate Repair Work

Every job at Latch & Post is priced job-by-job off a free written estimate – no hourly rate, no plan to join, nothing to sign up for. You see the full number for your specific job, in writing, before anyone picks up a tool. That number doesn’t move once work starts.

Call (626) 649-4572

That’s deliberate. Hourly billing works fine for the shop; it works against the homeowner, because the meter runs whether the job goes smoothly or hits a snag. A written price before the work begins means you’re making a real decision with real information – not agreeing to something open-ended and hoping for the best. Cody Beckman built Latch & Post around that principle starting in 2009, and it’s still the only way we price a job.

What a Visit Actually Costs You to Find Out

The estimate visit is free. We come out, look at the gate or operator, identify what’s wrong or what the installation requires, and hand you a written price for the complete job. The visit itself costs you nothing, and you’re completely free to say no – no pressure, no awkward follow-up calls.

Most estimates take 20 to 30 minutes. By the end, you know exactly what’s needed and exactly what it costs. If you want to move forward, we can often schedule quickly. If you’d rather think it over, that’s fine too. The written estimate is yours to keep either way.

When People Usually Call Us

A few situations come up more than others, and they tend to cluster in predictable ways.

Summer heat and hard winters are the two biggest drivers. A gate that opened smoothly in April can start binding by July when the metal in the posts and hinges expands. On the flip side, a freeze cycle will stiffen rollers, lock up a track, or push an operator just far enough out of alignment to throw a fault code. Power outages knock operators offline too – sometimes the gate comes back on its own after a reset, sometimes a board or sensor needs attention.

Community and HOA gates tend to get calls in two clusters: before the busy season, when traffic through them doubles, and right around the holidays, when a gate that was limping along finally quits under the extra use. Residential driveways follow a similar pattern – a gate that’s been grinding or hesitating gets ignored until it stops.

None of that is a reason to panic. It’s just worth knowing that if your gate starts acting up around a weather change or a busy stretch, you’re not the only one calling. We staff accordingly.

What You Can Expect From Us Either Way

A few things apply to every visit, whether you’re using an offer or not.

The written price comes first – always. No technician at Latch & Post starts work without your written approval of the price. That’s the Cedarwell Care Promise, and it’s not a policy we bend.

Every repair and installation is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work isn’t right, we make it right. No argument, no fine print.

Inside your home, our technicians wear shoe covers and lay down drop cloths. When kids are asleep, we use quieter methods where the job allows. Before leaving, the technician takes a photo of the cleaned-up work area – you get that photo as part of the record. Every technician is background-checked and in uniform, and factory-trained on the brands we actually work on: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule.

Those aren’t upsells. They’re included because Cody Beckman runs Latch & Post the same way he’d want someone working in his own house.

Common Questions

Is the estimate really free?

Yes, completely free. We come out, assess the gate or operator, and give you a written price – no charge for the visit, no obligation to book. You can say no, and we leave without pressure or a follow-up invoice.

Do you offer financing or a monthly plan?

No, and that’s intentional. Every job is priced off a free written estimate, and the number is agreed before any work starts. There’s no financing product, no payment plan, no membership to join. We’ve found that a clear price upfront – rather than a plan with fine print – is what actually works for most families.

Can I combine two offers at the same visit?

One offer per household per visit. The written estimate, shoe covers, drop cloths, and cleanup photo are included with every visit regardless – those aren’t offers, they’re just how we work. The first-visit discount applies once, on the first completed service visit.

Does the price change once you’re here?

No. The written estimate is the price. If a technician opens the gate panel and finds something additional that needs addressing, we stop and re-quote before touching anything new. You’ll never see a line item on the invoice that wasn’t on the written estimate you approved.
