Training & Ongoing Support

You don’t need to know a gate hinge from a gate latch to open a Latch & Post location. We built our training around something we noticed early: the best gate repair operators in the country came from all kinds of backgrounds. Teachers, firefighters, pharmacy techs, restaurant managers. What they shared wasn’t trade experience. It was a willingness to show up, learn a system, and treat a home the way they’d want their own treated. We bring the training. We bring the playbooks. We bring sixteen years of field knowledge since 2009. You bring the decision to run your own business.

Initial Training

Week one starts with the trade inside the shop, not in a classroom. You’ll spend time with working technicians on real gates: swing gates, slide gates, barrier arms, and the openers that drive them. You’ll learn the difference between a LiftMaster capacitor failure and a photo-eye alignment issue, and why a $140 Viking Access control board swap beats a $900 full-unit replacement. We teach you to diagnose before you replace, because that’s what keeps customers trusting you.

From there we move to the business side. Our operations team walks you through the software stack we use for scheduling, invoicing, and customer records. You’ll learn how to price a job so the written quote lands before the work starts, no exceptions. We cover hiring with the same precision: what to ask in an interview, when to background-check, and how to spot the kind of technician who will put on shoe covers without being reminded. Marketing comes next. Local service pages, neighborhood-level SEO, review generation, and how to answer the phone like a person, not a script. By the time you finish initial training, you’ll have run at least twenty practice estimates and done a full walkthrough of a customer visit from first call to cleanup photo.

Launch Support

Most franchises hand you a binder and a handshake. We don’t. Launch means our team is in your market, working through the first sixty days with you. We help set up your local service area, register your Google Business Profile, and get your pricing calibrated to your neighborhood. That means we sit with you while you quote your first ten jobs and check the numbers before you send them.

Our marketing team builds your launch campaign: local landing pages, service-area mapping, and phone tracking so you can see which channels actually ring. Then we coach you through your first jobs. Not in theory. On site. You’ll have a field coach available when the first LiftMaster swing arm doesn’t seat right or when a customer asks a question you haven’t heard before. The goal of launch support is simple: by day ninety, you’ve completed real jobs, collected real reviews, and you’ve answered the phone more times than you’ve missed it.

Ongoing Support

  • Field coaching and technical hotline: Our senior techs are available when a job goes sideways. You call, describe the symptom, and a trained technician walks you through the fix. This includes the brands families actually own: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule.
  • Marketing and lead generation: We manage national campaigns and train you to run local ones. You’ll get updated playbooks for search, reviews, and referral programs as the market shifts.
  • Vendor relationships and pricing: We negotiate parts purchasing across the Cedarwell network so you’re not paying full retail for circuit boards and operators. That margin stays in your pocket.
  • Software and technology updates: Scheduling, invoicing, and customer communication tools are maintained for you, with training when anything changes.
  • National brand campaigns: The Cedarwell reputation runs ahead of you. We run national awareness so your local marketing works harder when it lands.
  • Peer network and regional meetups: You’re not buying a logo. You’re joining a group of independent owners who share what works. When a new lift system hits the market, you’ll hear about it from an owner who installed one last month, not from a manual.

You’re Never Alone

You’re buying a system, not a guess. Call (626) 649-4572 to ask anything. Or request info below and we’ll walk you through fit, cost, and timing, with no pressure and no countdown.
